Foot & Ankle Pain

Many athletes, gymnasts, and active adults experience some form of foot and ankle pain at some point in their lives. Often times pain here is caused by soft tissue injuries, such as a sprain or strain.  These injuries can heal on their own with simple RICE (rest, ice, compression, and elevation) and self-care measures.  Other times, these injuries become chronic and need professional care to resolve completely.

Other types of pain could stem from structural changes in the foot or ankle from osteoarthritis, biomechanical deformities, overuse and repetitive stress.

If foot and ankle pain is slowing you down or impeding your athletic performance, Reagan Integrated Sports Medicine has the experts who can help. They have advanced training in foot and ankle problems and can diagnose, treat, and prevent a broad range of conditions and injuries, including:

  • Arthritis
  • Ankle sprains
  • Heel spurs
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Shin splints
  • Achilles tendon problems
  • Hammer toe and other toe disorders
  • Bunions
  • Morton’s neuroma
  • Tendonitis

Treatment for a foot or ankle injury will depend on its type, location, and severity. The specialists at Reagan Integrated Sports Medicine will conduct various tests to properly diagnose the problem and provide an effective non-surgical treatment or procedure.  An x-ray or MRI may be prescribed to better visualize internal structure of the foot and ankle.   If surgery is required for a serious injury like a broken bone or torn ligament, we can refer you to the best surgeons in the Dallas/Fort Worth region.

Our advanced nonsurgical treatments for the foot & ankle include:

  • Prolozone injections
  • Shockwave Therapy
  • High-Intensity Laser Therapy
  • Chiropractic and physical therapy to reduce biomechanical stress and strengthen muscles surrounding the affected joint
  • Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy

We also provide custom orthotics designed to your exact specifications to correct foot and ankle imbalances and provide you with the stability you need to avoid pain.
